Health and safety has a bad name in many areas of society where the abuse of this term is an affront to common sense. Arboriculture is recognised as a high risk occupation within which there is a danger to both operatives and the public.

As well as meeting an expanding list of legislative requirements, The Good Tree Company recognises the value of ensuring that paper work records genuinely practical and efficient methods that are implemented in the work place. We regularly update procedures and equipment in line with the latest research and findings, including our own.

Where appropriate we can provide:

  • Site specific risk assessments
  • Generic risk assessments
  • Method statements
  • Health and safety policy
  • Environmental policy
  • Records of staff qualifications
  • Public and employer liability insurance up to £5million

The HSE has worked alongside the Arboricultural Association with a series of workshops around the country to raise awareness of health and safety issues for  those who appoint and engage arboricultural contractors.  As Arboricultural Association Approved Contractors (see FAQs for more details) we have our systems regularly checked over for compliance with legislation, and are CHAS registered.

We can also provide details on compliance with:

  • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 1988 (COSHH)
  • Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR)
  • Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)
  • Lifting Equipment and Lifting Operations Regulations 1998 (LOLER)
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • Work at Height Regulations 2005 … and more

Our client view?

“Jonathan, thought you might like to see the comments made by our site agent:

‘Hi Ian, Worth  a mention, The Good Tree Company that we used to remove two Poplar trees at —————– were first class. Well geared up and well clued up. Health and safety being top of their priority list to the degree that, their site supervisor talked his colleagues through a task briefing before any work commenced. Got to say very impressed and would definetly recommend them. ‘”  Civil and Grounds engineering firm, West Bromwich.
