Because trees are such an integral part of our lives, we cannot but be aware that our work with them can affect that environment. Trees are important for so many reasons: beauty, shelter, habitat, well-being, shade, screening, shape, fruit and timber – not to mention breathing. Careful consideration of our work is therefore very important. We have an environmental policy which includes:

  • Recycling arisings from tree operations
  • Minimising toxic emissions through the selection and use of vehicles, equipment and power requirements
  • Actively promoting recycling both internally and amongst clients and suppliers
  • Discouraging unnecessary felling of trees and promoting re-planting and aftercare
  • Meeting or exceeding environmental legislation relating to the company and its practices
  • Achieving these aims by keeping a record of environmental procedural aims and achievements

We are also guided by legislation, not least the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981with amendments in the CRoW Act 2000. Both offer significant protection to wild animals using trees for shelter and nesting ; we  have team members with specific training, and experience, in Bat awareness and Veteran tree management.
